Afar
60Kismet
I am doomed to always love you from afar
To watch you as your friends flirt with you
When you were married I would never have dishonored you by crossing that line
Now you are single again
But I am no longer single
You are free and I am not
Once again I am doomed to love you from afar
Why did you ignore my letter
Written in my own hand with my pen dipped in ink
Do you think I would go to that effort for just anyone?
I wonder where you are tonight
I wonder who you are with
But it is not my place to selfishly want you for myself
I hope I'm not one of those loony women
Who read more into our relationship than was there
When will I see you again?

Oh yes. I know this feeling. Love is always at arm's length, only to be snatched away, not once but twice or maybe three times. Fate is a cruel thumscrew.

I love this photo with this poem. wonderful symbolism of blooming love alone, but waiting and hoping.
