Cracks in the Sidewalk
67Observations
This poem was inspired by a walk I took yesterday with my camera. A drawing workbook suggested using the cracks in the sidewalk as inspiration for a drawing. So on the walk home I remembered to take photos of cracks. Once I downloaded them, I realized how special that had become now that I could see them at eye level and I was moved to write a poem about them.
Cracks
A Pause to Consider
How many times have I passed this way
And never noticed the details
The tiny and not so tiny cracks
That sprawl with a free will in every direction
...
There is a beauty in random nature
Even in decay
There is a certain order to things
Concrete breaking down so flowers and trees can grow again
