Ever Lonely

By Poetic Muse

One of my favorites.

This is another poem turned song I wrote for a male friend of mine to sing. Sadly, he up and moved to Iowa so I don't get to hear him play it very often. At least I have it on CD in my private collection. I had hoped he'd make some to sell some day but he hasn't gotten around to it yet.

EVER LONELY

I've traveled from one end to the other

All across this sun-drenched land

Been through airports and train stations

Hoping just to hold your hand.

I was lonely, ever lonely

I thought I heard you walking past my door

Did you know you're my one and only?

Tonight I wonder where you are

Some day I will finally meet you

I feel it deep down in my bones

And when that day finally comes

Well, stop the presses; hold the phones

You are out there; I just know it, saving that one special kiss for me

Do you want me to come and hold you tonight wherever you may be?

Do you lie awake at night wondering if I do exist?

Do you close your eyes and sense what it'll feel like when we kiss?

Wrap your arms now, all around me, even if it's only in your mind

Cuz if we wish it honey, well then, each others love we'll find
