Hawks and other raptors are glorious creatures that need our protection. As they lose more of their open areas due to urbanization and climate changes and global warming, it's up to us to do what we can. Hawking is a very old sport with royal roots. I know a few people that have permits to keep and fly hawks and other birds. It is wonderful to get a close up look at these birds. The last time I went back to the spot where I took this photo, the park had cut down all the trees where the nests were in order to install motor home platforms. So now more people can camp and enjoy the beauty of nature which they just cut down. Ironic.
