Theory of Sweatertivity

Life is a lot like a knitted sweater

Sometimes you think you did everything right

You mastered the cable stitch and the ribbing

You used the best yarn you could afford

And you spent hours on trains, busses and in front of the fireplace

Knitting and purling your little heart out

But when you put it on the sleeves hang down to your knees

And your tummy pokes out between the hem and your belt

But you wear it anyway

Because you made it

And you are proud of it

And it still keeps you warm

And one day you'll meet a short man with long arms

And it will fit him perfectly.
