I am a word nerd

I cannot deny it

No matter how you slice it, saute it or fry it

I live for pentameter

I fight hard for meter

I'd just as soon bed her

As I would to greet her

I tuck words away in a little brain pocket

Confetti, spaghetti, play-pretty and locket

Nosegay and potpourri,

Unmentionables and quicksilver

Lilly loves liver

and lettuce and licorice

Now isn't that silly

I don't care if it rhymes

I don't care if it's tidy

From Nuit to Hecate

All the way to Aphrodite

Now I am babbling

But that's all right too

After all I am making some alphabet stew
